Popular Pizza Chain Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Another person falls short when it comes to pizza restaurants dealing with difficulties.

Running and managing a restaurant chain after the COVID-19 pandemic is far from being a leisurely stroll in the park.

That is definitely true for Bertucci’s Restaurants.

For the third occasion within seven years, the laid-back dining pizza establishment soughtChapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The initial filing occurred way back in 2018 for this restaurant chain.

Since then, only 21 restaurants remain scattered throughout the nation, primarily in the northeastern region.

Prior to resubmitting, the restaurant franchise introduced their latest cutting-edge dining concept named Pronto at the Boston Government Center. Currently, these establishments are limited to just 14 outlets within Massachusetts.

“Reflecting the fast-paced lifestyle of its urban customers, Bertucci’s Pronto menu will also include breakfast pizzas and sandwiches for busy morning travelers and will remain open into the evening for the reverse commute,” the company said in a statement, per NRN .

We're excited to come back to downtown Boston with a fresh idea at this iconic site," said Robert Earl, who owns Bertucci’s. "The support from the local community for Bertucci’s has been remarkable, and we’ve been hunting for the ideal location in the city to open our very first Bertucci’s Pronto eatery. The place on Tremont Street fits exactly what we had envisioned.

At present, the firm intends to roll out the cutting-edge strategy across all of its remaining branches.

As consistent with many other recent restaurant brand bankruptcies, customer preferences have moved away from traditional casual dining establishments," stated Bertucci’s in an independent release. "To adjust accordingly, Bertucci’s will focus more on its newly introduced fast-casual offshoot, known as Bertucci’s Pronto! The inaugural location of Bertucci’s Pronto just launched on 22 Tremont Street in Boston and has received excellent feedback.

Bertucci’s Pronto serves up pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and much more.
