A business that has shut down in a city-owned structure recently got a check for over $100,000 from municipal finances, as per the City of Myrtle Beach’s record of checks issued.

Meredith Denari, a city spokesperson, verified on Monday afternoon that funds were allocated for acquiring all the equipment from a recently closed downtown bakery.
“The city bought all furniture, fixtures and equipment that were in Le Manna for $125,000,” Denari wrote in an email. “This way, all cooking equipment could remain in the space and be ready for the next tenant. The city purchased it for less than market price.”
