Hanwha Ocean Secures $371M Deal for Two Crude Carriers from Oceania

SEOUL, April 28 (Yonhap) — Hanwha Ocean Co., one of South Korea’s leading shipbuilders, announced on Monday that they have received a contract worth approximately 371 billion won ($257.7 million) for constructing two very large crude carrier ships from an Oceanian client.

The delivery of the VLCCs to the unnamed shipping firm is scheduled for July 2027, according to the shipyard.

This year, Hanwha Ocean has secured contracts totaling $3 billion for constructing 14 ships, which include six very large crude carriers (VLCCs), six container ships, and two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.
