Walmart Supercenter in Horseheads will be remodeled. What changes will be made?

The Walmart Supercenter located at Southern Tier Crossing shopping center in Horseheads is set to receive some improvements.

One of more than 20 Walmart stores in New York State scheduled for renovation this year is the location in Chemung County.

The Walmart Supercenter located at 1400 County Route 64 took the place of the initial Walmart over ten years prior. The earlier store in Consumer Square, Big Flats, had been operational since the beginning of the 1990s.

According to statements from Walmart executives, the company intends to revamp more than 650 of its outlets across the country, including around two dozen locations within New York State.

"The revitalizations of our stores frequently act as the lifeblood within the communities where we function, underscoring our pledge to amplify this impact,” stated Annie Walker, senior vice president at Walmart’s East Business Unit. “Through our investments in both our facilities and staff members, we aim not just to elevate customer experiences but also to strengthen our resolve in serving as an essential component of each neighborhood's structure, thereby contributing to a more prosperous tomorrow for everyone.”

How will the redesigned Walmart outlets appear?

According to the press release, the refurbished outlets will boast “large, striking signs,” “engaging fresh exhibits to more effectively highlight products” and an increased variety of goods “that consumers desire most” via enlarged sections and newly introduced articles.

Walmart plans to enhance its online services for pickup and delivery, along with modifications in the pharmacy section. These updates will include more spacious walkways, a newly designated private viewing area, and separate spaces for discreet checkouts.

Walmart currently has 111 retail units and five supply chain facilities in New York, according to the company's news release, and employs over 39,600 associates in the state.
