HD KSOE Allies Secure $2.5 Billion Container Ship Deals

SEOUL, April 28 (Yonhap) — HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. (HD KSOE) announced on Monday that its subsidiaries have received contracts totaling 2.5 trillion won to construct 22 container ships for customers from Asian and Oceanian markets.
Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. plans to construct 16 container vessels at its facility in Ulsan, located approximately 305 kilometers southeast of Seoul, for carriers from these areas by early 2028, as stated in a press release by HD KSOE.
Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. plans to construct six container vessels at its facility in Yeongam, located approximately 308 kilometers south of Seoul, with deliveries scheduled incrementally to customers across those areas during the specified timeframe.
The firm refrained from disclosing the clients' names.
HD KSOE, which is part of the diversified industrial group HD Hyundai encompassing sectors from shipbuilding to machinery, oversees three subsidiary companies, one of which is HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co.
